Buffalo Lighthouse is located in the vicinity of the Erie Basin Marina. It was built in 1883, and guided more than a half million people to the city, until it was ceased to be used around the time of the First World War. In 1987, it was re-lit for the first Friendship Festival. The Buffalo Lighthouse Association Museum is also located here. It is open for tours by appointment only.
