Buffalo Castles & Stately Homes
Frank Lloyd Wright's Graycliff is one of the buildings in the Buffalo area designed by Lloyd Wright. It is located south of Buffalo, and overlooks Lake Erie from a 70 foot cliff.
Wilcox Mansion is a 19th century Greek revival mansion that was originally owned by the Ansley Wilcox family, who were friends of Theodore Roosevelt. Following the assassination of President William McKinley, it was where Roosevelt was inagurated as President in 1901. It now displays items related to both the assassination and the inaguration, and each August hosts a teddy bear picnic.
Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D Martin House is one of roughly six historic buildings that were constructed by Lloyd Wright in the Buffalo area. It serves as a good example of his prarie style. There are other structures on the complex, including the Barton House, a gardener's cottage, and a covered walkway that connects the main house to the conservatory.
