Recognized as the only remaining African American Club of it kind in the United States, the Colored Musicians Club has been in its present location since 1934. A number of renowned jazz artists have played at the club throughout its history including Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, Art Blakey and many more. Nonmembers are welcome to enjoy music and the club also features open jazz sessions on Sundays and music lessons.
